Niagara-on-the-Lake

A bargain at $360 for a suite...
Niagara-on-the-Lake (or NOTL) is an extremely pretty town not far from the town of Niagara Falls. Being summer there were lots of tourists, lots of flowers and driving in, there were also lots of stands selling corn, peaches and other fruit and veg. We would find it difficult to eat 3L of peaches by ourselves though!

As with most touristy places (like Niagara Falls too), parking is expensive unless you drive a block or two out of the centre of town and walk in. Then it’s free, so that’s what we found and then we walked down the main street, checking out all the cute shops.

Of course, all I wanted was free samples and that we found! As we were walking down the street I grabbed Will and dragged him into a random shop. They had the most delicious range of dips and relishes and jams to try! I did get a souvenir too – a stain from the blueberry balsamic vinegar. Luckily it washed out under Niagara Falls the next day! My favourite was the asiago dip – amazing. However $17 for a small jar was not so fun. So I had one more sample of it and then we left!

We also stopped by at an amazing art gallery. The artist has travelled around the world and taken amazing photos, then had them printed on canvas. It is a unique type of art, because he told us he’d developed the technique himself. They were so terrific, that if we had had the money we would’ve bought a couple! I loved the one of a frozen Niagara Falls. There were also some nice ones of Australia and New Zealand, but in respecting the artist’s work, I didn’t take any photos.

On the road again...heading to the Maritimes

So, there won't be much blogging over the next couple of weeks as we'll be speeding off to Quebec City and then the Maritimes.

Here's some pictures we took at the CN Tower shop - funny t-shirts. So cute!

Toronto - TD Inuit Art Gallery

Toronto Dominion is our bank here in Canada, but we didn’t realise that their Toronto headquarters had a free Inuit Art Display. It was actually pretty cool! To be honest, it was better than the Inuit Art section at the National Gallery in Ottawa, which had two stick things and a couple of random bits and pieces, but nothing as cool as this! We took photos of just about every piece!!!

So cute!
